Valentine Bags for Infusion Center

" None knows the weight of another's burden. "-George Herbert

Valentine's Day is coming up so Irene and I have made some more Bags for the Infusion Center............I made this Japanese Knot Bag first....it does have some hearts on it but I think it could be used all year long............

Next I gathered all my Valentine scraps and fat quarters and whipped up 4 quick bags.......the ladies at the infusion center will fill these little bags with small items to sell in their boutique with profits from sales going to help the patients.

Irene always amazes me..........she is so creative....here are her bags.....she was away from her sewing room and used the scraps she had at the ranch....love these sweet bags............

.......and, of course, I'm going to remind everyone about the Neighborhood Party............all you have to do is make a single house block and have a chance to win some house blocks!  Click on the Neighborhood Party button below or on my right side bar........

C'mon and join the party!

Two House Blocks for Neighborhood Party!

Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.― John F. Kennedy

I made two blocks for the Neighborhood Party today..........the first is a Tall House with a Tall tree.............and a little kitty in the window.......the kitty looks like my first Kitty, Lucy, who went to Rainbow Bridge at the ripe old age of 19...............

I was having so much fun that I decided to make another block for the party..........an extra for the charity quilt or  another "just because"........This one is a Wonky House with some of my favorite friends......Raggedy Ann and Andy....and, of course....another kitty.......

I will be linking up my House blocks to the Neighborhood Party Link-up HERE and invite all of you to join us at the party.  Just click on THIS LINK or the house below to sign up on Irene's page at Hilachas...........once you make your block go to the Link-up page on my blog and link-up.....easy peasy!

Christmas and other gifts.....and a Neighborhood party!

The most important thing in the world is family and love.John Wooden

I had told you last post that I had some more Christmas stuff to show you and here it is.... the first photo actually isn't from Christmas but a few months back............I was visiting my sis, Irene, and she had this little Kitty sitting in her sewing room............

Isn't this sweet?  Irene cross-stitched this Kitty back in 1980 and was "cleaning out stuff" so I was the winner of the "in the right place at the right time" contest!
I don't know if any of you noticed the quilt behind Kitty but it is a "Good Night Irene" quilt that I oohed and ahhhed about when Irene made it last year.  I have always loved the song because it reminds me of my Big Sis everytime I hear it......so, naturally, I loved this quilt too.......
Irene knows me so well.........and guess what I got for Christmas???
thanks Sis!  You know how much I love this quilt.....but not as much as I love you.........

.........speaking about my sis............she has a wonderful post and invitation!  Awhile back she remarked to me that she had really missed Beth's (Love, Laugh, Quilt) yearly Neighborhood Party......those familiar with the party know that Beth established this wonderful Block party a few years back but has been unable to host the party for a couple of years because of other commitments.  Beth was so gracious to allow Irene and me to continue the party this year!
Please click on the link below or the house button in my right side bar to Irene's invitation!  I will be opening a linky party on my blog where everyone will be able to post their blocks.

Christmas Stuff a little late.......

" Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. "-William Arthur Ward

Here it is 2016 and I am barely posting Christmas stuff......golly I have to get with it!

Well anyway..........the infusion center at the hospital where I work has a sweet little boutique where they sell items to raise money for their patients........I had donated a tote bag to them during their breast cancer campaign and asked if they would like more.......they told me they would love some smaller Christmas bags that they could fill as gift bags so here is what I came up with.................I made 4 little bags and I "made" my sister, Irene, make some too!  (I love when I can turn the tables on her...lol)..........these are the ones I made .......the ladies at the infusion center loved them so much that I have promised "WE" would make them some more for Valentine's Day!

The next thing I had fun with last month was surprising my niece, Sara, with her very own Raggedy Ann........Sara had loved the one I made for my Hairdresser Sis so I decided she needed her own...........Sara is a teacher and graduate of UNM so I dressed her Raggedy Ann in team colors with the team mascot (Lobo) emblem..............

I think Sara likes her Raggedy Ann!

Over 45 years ago I made my first Raggedy Ann and gave it to my "baby sister", Lynette, who was about 6 years old at the time........Lynette is Sara's Mom..........and she still has her doll!

You might have noticed that the "new, improved Raggedy" now has longer, highlighted hair....and poor 'middle-aged" Raggedy's hair appears to have thinned out a bit........lol....

I have more to show you but I will save it for the next post......
